Special Olympics World Winter Games: Pakistan wins four medals, including gold

Pakistan has made a mark at the Special Olympics World Winter Games 2025, clinching four medals, including a gold in cross-country skiing.

Muneebur Rehman, hailing from Swabi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, secured Pakistan’s first-ever gold medal in the men’s 50-metre cross-country skiing event, delivering a stellar performance at the 12th Special Olympics World Winter Games in Turin.

In the women’s 50-metre cross-country skiing event, Rubina Qurban claimed silver, showcasing her remarkable skill.

Meanwhile, in the 200-metre snowshoeing race, Saboor Ahmed and Ali Raza bagged bronze medals, further adding to Pakistan’s medal tally.

Expressing his joy, gold medalist Muneebur Rehman shared that this was his first-ever participation in the World Winter Games, for which he had been training for the past seven years.
