The Sindh government has officially declared a two-day holiday for Hindu employees in the province in celebration of the Holi festival.
A notification confirming the holidays on Thursday and Friday has been issued.
According to the notification, Hindu employees across Sindh will be granted leave on these days to mark the religious occasion.
Sindh’s Senior Minister, Sharjeel Inam Memon, extended heartfelt greetings to the Hindu community, emphasizing that Holi symbolises joy and unity.
“The Sindh government has announced these holidays to double the happiness of our Hindu brothers and sisters,” he said.
Memon highlighted Sindh’s legacy of peace, tolerance, and religious harmony, where people of all faiths live with mutual respect.
He reaffirmed that under the leadership of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the provincial government has taken significant steps to safeguard minority rights.
“For the first time in Pakistan’s history, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has elected a minority representative, Anthony Naveed, as Speaker, and Krishna Kohli as Senator,” Memon added.
He also credited the Sindh government for initiatives such as the establishment of the Sindh Minorities Commission, financial assistance and scholarships for minority students, and the renovation of temples and other places of worship.
Additionally, Memon highlighted job quotas and welfare programs introduced for minority communities, ensuring better opportunities for them.
“The Sindh government remains committed to concrete measures for the rights and well-being of minorities,” he said.
