Saud Shakeel becomes first Pakistani batter timed out in President’s Trophy final
Left-handed batter Saud Shakeel made history by becoming the first Pakistani player to be timed out during the final of the President’s Trophy against PTV.
It was the second day of the match when Shakeel, representing the State Bank of Pakistan, arrived late to the crease after two quick wickets fell.
He rushed out of the dugout following the dismissals of Umar Amin and Fawad Alam, who were out on consecutive deliveries. Pacer Muhammad Shahzad claimed the wicket of Umar Amin, who scored six runs, while Fawad Alam was dismissed for a golden duck.
Shakeel was declared timed out, as he arrived late to the crease with pacer Muhammad Shahzad on a hat-trick. PTV captain Amad Butt appealed for the time-out, and the umpire ruled in favour, marking his late arrival.
