The General Authority for Care of the Two Holy Mosques in Saudi Arabia has announced that registration for Aitekaf at the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah would open on March 5, the Saudi Gazette reported.

Starting at 11am local time on Wednesday, the registration process will continue until all available slots for the ritual are filled. Permits will be issued through the authority’s official online platform, adhering to specific conditions and criteria.

A religious practice, Aitekaf observed during the last 10 days of Ramazan, involves Muslims secluding themselves in a mosque for dedicated worship and prayer. This year, it will commence on March 20 and continue until the end of holy month.

The ritual offers an opportunity for worshippers to strengthen their connection with Allah, free from daily distractions.
