Harrison Ford to miss 97th Academy Awards because of shingles: report
Legendary Hollywood actor Harrison Ford would not attend the 97th Academy Awards on Monday because of shingles, Variety reported.
He was scheduled to present an award at the event on March 3 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
The media outlet confirmed Ford’s absence through his representative while Entertainment Weekly reported that the Star Wars star fell ill on February 28 and officially withdrew from the 2025 Oscars on March 1.
“Shingles is a painful rash illness. People get shingles when the varicella-zoster virus (VZV), which causes chickenpox, reactivates in their bodies after they have already had chickenpox,” the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said.
