The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 clash between Australia and South Africa in Group B was called off due to persistent rain in Rawalpindi.

As a result, both teams were awarded one point each.

Scheduled for a 1:30pm toss and a 2pm start, the match faced repeated delays before being officially abandoned.

Match officials cited a wet outfield, making play impossible.

With this outcome, South Africa and Australia now have three points each from two matches, securing the top two spots in Group B.

Meanwhile, England and Afghanistan, having played one match each, remain in contention for the semifinals.

In contrast, Group A has already confirmed India and New Zealand as semifinalists, eliminating Pakistan and Bangladesh from the tournament.

The ongoing rain has raised concerns over the tournament schedule, with forecasts predicting continued showers throughout the day.

Additionally, Pakistan’s scheduled practice session in Rawalpindi was also cancelled due to the weather.

Australia and South Africa had won their respective opening matches, with Australia defeating England and South Africa overcoming Afghanistan.
