British chef Gordon Ramsay praises Pakistani cook Maryam Ishtiaq’s ‘Tandoori Chicken’
British celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has praised Dallas-based Pakistani chef and content creator Maryam Ishtiaq’s Tandoori Chicken at the fourth season of Next Level Chef.
“Spoiler When @gordongram says Pakistan has some of the best food, you better believe it! We are going to the drafts baby!!!” she said in an Instagram post on Friday.
Chefs loved her homemade yoghurt as Ramsay praised the Pakistani cuisine.
While announcing her selection on Instagram, Ishtiaq expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to pursue her passion and represent her community on such a prestigious platform.
In an interview, she described the experience as “overwhelming,” noting the support she has received from her community. She shared that her journey to the show began years ago, as she applied and then forgot about her application until she received a call inviting her for further discussions.

The selection process involved multiple interviews and background checks, leading to her being chosen from thousands of applicants.
Ishtiaq highlighted her pride in her achievements as a private chef and business owner, stating, “I’ve carved my path here and I’m so proud of it.” She aims to embrace every moment of this experience and grow from it.
In addition to her culinary pursuits, Ishtiaq founded a company called It’s Actually, which produces halal, hand-crafted bone broth. She has garnered recognition in the past, including a feature in Forbes, and hopes to open a café that accommodates various dietary needs.
