Poet Akash Ansari murder case: Son confesses to the crime
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Hyderabad, Dr Farrukh Lanjar, has revealed crucial details regarding the tragic murder of poet Dr Akash Ansari.
Addressing a press conference, he confirmed that the victim’s body was initially believed to have been burned in a fire caused by a short circuit.
However, upon further investigation and a post-mortem examination, multiple injuries were discovered, raising suspicions of foul play.
According to sources, Dr Ansari’s son, Shah Latif, has confessed to the crime.
The post-mortem report indicated that the wounds were inflicted with a sharp-edged weapon, contradicting earlier assumptions that they were caused by broken glass.
SSP Lanjar stated that at the time of the incident, Shah Latif and the family’s driver were present at the scene. The family handed them over to the police for questioning.
The gathered evidence confirmed that Dr Akash Ansari’s death was not an accident but a premeditated murder. His son, Shah Latif, was identified as the perpetrator.
Following the confession, the police recovered the murder weapon — a knife — based on the suspect’s directions.

SSP Lanjar further disclosed that Shah Latif was a drug addict and had been in conflict with his father over certain issues.
Investigators also found that after committing the murder, the suspect attempted to set the body on fire. The victim’s facial injuries suggested a struggle before his death.
As of now, the FIR will be registered with the family’s consent.
The police continue to investigate the case, but so far, no evidence suggests the involvement of any other individuals.
