ICC unveils prize money for Champions Trophy 2025
As the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 is set to kick off on February 19, the International Cricket Council has announced a substantial prize pool for the eagerly awaited tournament.
This edition marks the return of the mega event after an eight-year absence and promises to be one of the most lucrative cricket events in recent years.
The total prize money has seen an impressive 53% increase from the 2017 edition, totalling $6.9 million. The increase underlines the ICC’s commitment to enhancing the “prestige and appeal” of its flagship events.
The prize money distribution for the upcoming ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 has been detailed as follows: the champion will receive $2.24 million, while the runner-up will earn $1.12 million.
Losing semi-finalists will each take home $560,000. Teams will also be rewarded for their performance in the group stages, with each victory valued at $34,000.
The fifth and sixth places will receive $350,000 each, while the seventh and eighth places will get $140,000 each. Furthermore, each participating team will be granted a participation fee of $125,000.
