Wendy Williams accuses son Kevin Hunter Jr of financial mismanagement
American broadcaster and media personality Wendy Williams has accused her son, Kevin Hunter Jr, of mismanaging her finances.
Williams rejected claims of cognitive impairment despite earlier reports and discussed her relationship with Kevin Jr in a new episode of the TMZ podcast 2 Angry Men.
The interview follows the premiere of the Tubi special Saving Wendy, in which the media figure alleged that she was placed under guardianship after several significant unauthorized withdrawals were made from her bank account.
Kevin Jr has refuted the withdrawals, and court documents from last September indicate that Williams’ son “expressed remorse for previous mistakes and inappropriate conduct.”
“The court is not convinced that he can keep her safe and wouldn’t willingly or unwittingly expose her to financial exploitation.”
Around the 4-minute mark of the episode from Saving Wendy, the media personality detailed her allegations of financial exploitation by Kevin Jr Williams shared her 24-year-old son with her ex-husband, Kevin Hunter, whom she was married to from 1999 to 2020.
“My son is a good person, but right now, he is treating me horribly,” Williams stated while at her assisted living facility.
“It’s how he interacts with others… and ‘What’s happening with these other people at my apartment in Miami? What are you spending money on? And what’s going on with Wells Fargo?’”
“Like, is he stealing from me? Look, all I know is that, in terms of what I’m dealing with, this is still going on, because that’s when my money got frozen at Wells Fargo, thank God. No more money stealing from my son and the other people,” Williams continued.
Just weeks after Williams attended her son’s college graduation, Kevin Jr. reportedly received a second eviction notice for his Miami apartment.
According to the property’s management, he allegedly owed a total of $4,316, with a warning to either pay the rent or leave the apartment by January 7. Earlier this month, the company filed a voluntary dismissal.
