Another vessel carrying Pakistanis capsizes off Libya’s coast
A vessel carrying approximately 65 passengers, including Pakistani nationals, has capsized off the coast of Libya, as confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (FO) on Monday. The incident occurred near the port of Marsa Dela, northwest of Zawiya city.
The Pakistan Embassy in Tripoli reported the situation and dispatched a team to Zawiya Hospital to assist local authorities in identifying the deceased.
The embassy is actively working to gather further information about the Pakistani individuals affected by the tragedy.
It remains uncertain if the passengers were migrants. In response to the incident, the FO has activated its Crisis Management Unit to closely monitor developments and coordinate assistance with local officials.
This incident follows a similar tragedy last month when a boat carrying 80 passengers sank near Morocco, resulting in the loss of numerous lives, including many Pakistani nationals.
