Preparations are complete for the long-awaited departure of a supply convoy from Thal to Parachinar in Kurram District. Government sources state the convoy will carry food items, medicines, fruits, vegetables, and other essential supplies.

Trade union representatives indicate over 100 vehicles will be part of the convoy, expected to depart shortly.

Separately, a “Peace Jirga” is being convened on Sunday in Kurram Agency to address the deteriorating security situation. The Jirga, organized by local elders following days of campaigning, is expected to draw thousands of participants.

The aim of the Peace Jirga is to formulate proposals and concrete actions to restore peace to the region.

Kurram has experienced significant insecurity over the past six months, prompting local elders and residents to convene the Jirga.
