US Border Patrol Chief releases video of shackled Indian immigrants boarding C-17 plane
The chief of the US Border Patrol (UBSP) Michael W Banks released a video showing Indian illegal immigrants with their hands cuffed and legs shackled as they boarded a C-17 aircraft.
“USBP and partners successfully returned illegal aliens to India, marking the farthest deportation flight yet using military transport. This mission underscores our commitment to enforcing immigration laws and ensuring swift removals,” Banks said on X on the video.
“If you cross illegally, you will be removed,” he stated.
The Indian nationals reported that they were tied during the entire flight from San Antonio, Texas, to Amritsar. Some of them told India Today that they were only unshackled after they landed.
The Central government is yet to make an official statement.
Out of the 104 illegal immigrants, 33 are from Haryana, 33 from Gujarat, 30 from Punjab, three from Maharashtra, three from Uttar Pradesh, and two from Chandigarh.
A US military plane carrying 104 deported Indian migrants arrived in a northern Indian city on Wednesday.
