Kashmir Solidarity Day observed nationwide
Pakistan is observing Kashmir Solidarity Day today, reaffirming support for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Political leaders, armed forces, and civil society came together to pay tribute to the resilience of Kashmiris and condemn ongoing human rights violations in the region.
President Asif Ali Zardari expressed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the Kashmiri struggle, condemning India’s repression and urging the United Nations to fulfill its long-standing commitments regarding Kashmir.
He emphasized that Pakistan would continue to provide moral, diplomatic, and political support to the Kashmiri people.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted self-determination as a fundamental principle of international law, denouncing the atrocities occurring in Indian-administered Kashmir and calling for global pressure on India to allow Kashmiris to determine their future.
He declared that Kashmir would remain a cornerstone of Pakistan’s foreign policy.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reiterated the armed forces’ commitment to the Kashmiri cause, condemning human rights violations and calling for the implementation of UN Security Council resolutions.
In various events across the country, including a seminar held by the Pakistani embassy in Belgium, speakers condemned India’s actions and reinforced support for Kashmiris’ rights. In Lahore, a torch-bearing rally took place, while candlelight vigils were held in Mirpur and Bhimber to honor the martyrs of Kashmir.
The Sindh Assembly passed a resolution condemning Indian atrocities and expressing solidarity with Kashmiris. Security measures were heightened in Lahore, with over 11,000 police personnel deployed to ensure safety during numerous rallies and gatherings.

Educational institutions in Peshawar and Mardan also organized special events to raise awareness about Kashmir’s struggle.
Kashmir Solidarity Day serves as an annual reminder of Pakistan’s commitment to supporting the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.
