Any Indian misadventure will be responded with full and resolute force: COAS
The Pakistan Army’s 267th Corps Commanders’ Conference, chaired by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir, concluded today with a strong warning to India and a condemnation of cross-border terrorism emanating from Afghanistan.
According to the ISPR, the conference reviewed the regional security landscape, focusing on the situation along the Line of Control (LoC) and the Working Boundary. Participants paid tribute to the sacrifices of soldiers, law enforcement officers, and civilians who have died in the pursuit of national security. The forum expressed solidarity with the people of Kashmir on the eve of Kashmir Solidarity Day (February 5th), strongly condemning ongoing human rights abuses in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK) and calling for international intervention. Pakistan reiterated its unwavering support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.
The COAS sharply criticized recent provocative statements from the Indian military leadership, calling them irresponsible and detrimental to regional stability. General Munir emphasized that the Pakistan Army is fully prepared to defend Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, stating that any aggression will be met with a resolute response. He characterized India’s statements as a diversionary tactic to mask internal issues and human rights violations.
The conference also expressed serious concern over the use of Afghan soil by terrorist groups for attacks against Pakistan, urging the Afghan interim government to take concrete action against these groups. The army reiterated its commitment to defending Pakistan against such threats.
Addressing socio-economic development in Balochistan, the forum highlighted the need to accelerate people-centric initiatives to counter external narratives of exclusion and thwart foreign-sponsored attempts to destabilize the region. The army reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining peace in Balochistan with the support of the local population.
General Munir concluded the conference by emphasizing the army’s commitment to fulfilling its constitutional responsibilities and maintaining operational preparedness through sustained training and enhanced military cooperation.
