Jallo Park employee arrested for intentionally allowing lion to escape
The Punjab Wildlife Department has taken strict action against an employee, Sharif Masih, for deliberately opening a lion’s cage at Jallo Park.
Masih has been taken into custody, and a decision has been made to file a terrorism case against him.
According to a spokesperson for the Punjab Wildlife Department, Sharif Masih intentionally opened the lion’s cage, allowing the lion to escape.
Upon the lion’s escape, the on-duty staff acted swiftly, tranquilizing the lion and safely returning it to its cage. An injection was administered to ensure the lion could be securely transported back.
In response to the incident, the department has formed a three-member committee comprising the Director of Lahore Zoo, the Deputy Director of Wildlife in Lahore, and a veterinary officer from Safari Park. The committee has been directed to complete its inquiry within 12 hours.
