Ramzan package payments to be made in cash
The government is set to distribute the Prime Minister’s Ramazan Package in cash to underserved populations across the country, as confirmed by sources.
This initiative will be coordinated with the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP).
An Inter-Ministerial Committee (IMC) has been established to oversee the process, consisting of key ministers and secretaries, including the Minister of Industries and Production as the convener.
The committee is tasked with determining the logistics for the closure of the Utility Stores Corporation (USC) pending its privatization, as well as developing strategies for delivering the Ramazan Package.
The committee is also responsible for ensuring the safekeeping and maintenance of USC’s assets until the privatization process is completed. This move is part of the broader efforts to provide financial assistance to those in need during the holy month of Ramazan.
