The Learjet 55 was reportedly carrying six individuals, including a child, when it departed from Northeast Philadelphia Airport en route to Springfield-Branson National Airport in Missouri, on February 1.

The aircraft disappeared from radar approximately 30 seconds after takeoff, prompting an immediate response from local authorities.

Transport Secretary Sean Duffy confirmed the presence of six people on board, including four crew members and a pediatric patient with an escort.

As the plane crashed near Roosevelt Mall, it set multiple vehicles and at least one home ablaze, leading to road closures in the vicinity.

Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker stated that the situation is being treated as a “major incident,” although details regarding the number of victims remain unclear.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will jointly investigate the crash.
