Man who desecrated holy Quran killed in Sweden
A man known for multiple Quran desecrations in Sweden has been reported dead, according to a Stockholm court announcement on Thursday.
Swedish media outlets confirmed that Salwan Momika, 38, was killed in a shooting incident in a nearby city.
Momika gained notoriety for staging several acts of desecration involving holy book, which sparked widespread outrage and condemnation across various Muslim countries. Such actions resulted in riots and unrest in several locations. Swedish authorities are investigating him for incitement against ethnic groups within the country.
The Stockholm District Court announced that a verdict set for Thursday in a trial involving Salwan Momika has been postponed due to the death of one of the defendants.
According to court documents and statements from Judge Goran Lundahl, the deceased individual was confirmed to be Momika, as reported by the Swedish news agency TT.
