The Chinese Embassy in Pakistan has firmly rejected recent claims made by The Guardian regarding comments attributed to a Chinese diplomat, labeling them as “completely untrue.”

A spokesperson for the embassy criticized the article for lacking credibility and accused the author of fabricating information without consent for an interview, which they called a breach of professional ethics.

The embassy reiterated China’s steadfast commitment to the development of Gwadar and Balochistan, outlining several significant initiatives from the past year:

  1. In March, China provided $100,000 in emergency cash assistance for disaster relief in
    Balochistan.

  2. In May, 10,000 solar lighting sets were delivered to the province.

  3. In June, the Gwadar China-Pakistan Friendship Hospital and a desalination plant were inaugurated.

  4. In July, a media delegation from Balochistan visited China.

  5. In August, 20,000 health kits were distributed throughout the province.

  6. In October, the Gwadar International Airport was completed successfully.

  7. In November, various delegations from Gwadar visited China.

In December, outstanding Pakistani staff involved in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects were recognized.

Looking ahead, the embassy announced new initiatives, including scholarship opportunities for students at Balochistan University, Sardar Bahadur Khan University, and Gwadar University.
