Meta to allow WhatsApp integration with Instagram, Facebook
Meta has announced that users will soon be able to link their WhatsApp accounts with Instagram and Facebook, enhancing connectivity across its platforms.
This integration, expected to roll out globally in the coming months, will enable WhatsApp users to share their status updates directly on both social media platforms.
The integration will be facilitated through Meta’s Account Centre, which acts as a central hub for managing accounts across Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.
Users will have the option to opt-out of linking their accounts, as the connection will not be automatic. Even after linking, WhatsApp’s chats and calls will remain end-to-end encrypted.
To connect their accounts, users will need to update WhatsApp to the latest version and navigate to the settings menu to find the option to link to the Account Centre.

Once linked, users can configure how they wish to share updates, including enabling WhatsApp Status to appear on Instagram and Facebook. If users wish to unlink their accounts later, they can do so easily through the settings.
Meta is also working on additional features that will enhance cross-platform functionality, aiming to create a more streamlined user experience across its services.
