Fresh snowfall draws tourists to Kaghan Valley

This year marks a significant improvement in accessibility

The picturesque tourist destination of Shogran in the Kaghan Valley has received a fresh coat of winter magic, with up to one foot of snow blanketing the area after an extended dry spell. This unexpected snowfall has revitalized the valley’s allure, attracting a steady influx of visitors eager to experience the breathtaking snowy landscapes.

This year marks a significant improvement in accessibility. For the first time, the Kaghan Development Authority (KDA) has ensured that the Shogran Road remains open even to smaller vehicles, significantly easing tourist access to the popular destination. The result? Visitors are flocking to the valley, captivated by the stunning snow-covered scenery.

While Shogran enjoys a foot of snow, the snowfall has been even more substantial in Naran and surrounding areas, with reports of up to three feet of accumulation. This heavier snowfall has brought significantly colder temperatures to the region.

The long-awaited snowfall has breathed new life into the Kaghan Valley, transforming it into a winter wonderland and drawing tourists from far and wide to witness its stunning beauty.

“We’ve implemented comprehensive measures to ensure maximum facilities for tourists in Shogran,” stated KDA official Moazzam Khan. “Staff are deployed, machinery is on standby, and we’ve established a dedicated helpline – 1422 – to assist tourists in case of any emergencies or difficulties.” The KDA’s proactive approach is ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors.
