India submits 15-player squad for ICC Men’s Champions Trophy
India has submited their 15-player squad for the upcoming ICC Men’s Champions Trophy.
Indian cricketer Jasprit Bumrah has been included, who missed a portion of the Sydney Test due to injury, with Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) chief selector Ajit Agarkar noted that the team will monitor his fitness leading up to the tournament.
Another Indian cricketer, Harshit Rana, is also brought into the squad for the England ODIs prior to the Champions Trophy.
The squad saw Indian cricketer Yashasvi Jaiswal joining top-order regulars Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Shubman Gill, while the middle order will feature experienced players KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, and Rishabh Pant.
India squad includes Indian cricketers Rohit Sharma (c), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Shami, Arshdeep Singh, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rishabh Pant, and Ravindra Jadeja.
The issue of hosting the Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 has taken a new turn as sources revealed that the world cricket body has proposed a “partnership formula” aimed at breaking the deadlock.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) will host India’s matches in the 2025 Champions Trophy, resolving a long-standing dispute between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and BCCI.
The BCCI confirmed on November 26 that India will not participate in the 2024 Champions Trophy cricket tournament in Pakistan.
