Mumbai police arrest suspect in Saif Ali Khan knife attack case
The Mumbai Police has arrested the suspect involved in the attack on Indian actor Saif Ali Khan while attempting to flee, media reports said.
The police launched a search operation against the suspect as multiple teams were deployed across Mumbai and surrounding areas.
The suspect was taken to the Bandra Police Station for additional questioning.
The investigation showed that he was seen near Bandra Railway station after the attack.
Investigators believe the accused boarded a local train heading to Vasai Virar after escaping the scene.
The police stated that the attack was planned with the robbery attempt as the robber asked for 1 crore Indian rupees from the actor.
The Mumbai Police Deputy Commissioner of Police Dixit Gedam confirmed that the suspect accessed the building via the fire escape staircase, characterizing the incident as an “attempted robbery.”
The incident took place around 2:30am on Thursday, January 16, when an intruder confronted Saif’s housekeeper in the apartment.
Khan stepped in to protect his family and staff, receiving multiple stab wounds, including a serious injury to his thoracic spinal cord.

He was quickly taken to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai, where he underwent emergency surgery to remove a 2.5-inch knife from his spine and to address a spinal fluid leak.
The maid was also attacked with a hexa blade, sustained injuries to her wrists and hands while attempting to defend herself against the intruder.
