Alaska Airlines flight attendant fired after twerking incident
A flight attendant for Alaska Airlines, Nelle Diala, has been terminated from her position following the viral spread of a TikTok video showing her twerking while on duty.
The incident occurred during a two-hour flight delay, where Diala was filmed dancing as she awaited the captain.
The video, which also gained popularity on Instagram, featured the flight attendant’s caption: “don’t let the uniform fool you.” This incident came shortly after she completed her probationary period, just six months into her employment.
Despite facing backlash for her actions, Diala defended herself, posting a follow-up video with the message, “Can’t even be yourself anymore, without the world being so sensitive.”
She added that “hashtag discrimination is real”.
In light of her dismissal, the flight attendant has created a GoFundMe campaign to seek financial assistance as she searches for new job opportunities.
“I never thought a single moment would cost me everything,” she stated on the fundraising page, which has raised $182 of its $12,000 goal.

The incident has sparked mixed reactions online, with some users supporting Diala while others criticised her behaviour.
One commenter remarked, “You don’t respect the uniform, you don’t respect your job then,” while another suggested she should focus on finding a new job instead of seeking support for her dismissal.
