Third-year students at Bannu Medical College have launched a protest, seizing the main gate and holding college staff hostage.

The students set fire to old furniture, completely blocking access to the college.

The protesting students stated their refusal to reside in the college hostel, arguing that private hostels offer a superior learning environment.

They are demanding the administration reverse its decision regarding mandatory hostel accommodation.

As of the latest reports, negotiations between the students and the Bannu Medical College administration have failed to reach a resolution.
