Govt announces increase in toll taxes for next year
The rates will be implemented on January 5
The Pakistani government has announced a New Year’s “gift” for motorists traveling on national highways and motorways: a significant increase in toll taxes. The National Highway Authority (NHA) will implement the new rates effective January 5, 2025.
According to sources, the revised toll rates are as follows:
- Cars: Rs60 on national highways. Specific motorway toll increases include:
- M1 (Islamabad-Peshawar): Increased from Rs460 to Rs500.
- M3 (Lahore-Abdul Hakeem): Increased from Rs650 to Rs700.
- M4 (Pindi Bhattian-Faisalabad-Multan): Increased from Rs850 to Rs950.
- M5 (Multan-Sukkur): Increased from Rs1050 to Rs1100.
- M14 (Gwadar-Hakla): Rs600
- E35 (Hasan Abdal-Havelian-Mansehra): Rs250
The tolls for vehicls by size will be as follows:
- Vans: Rs100 on national highways.
- Buses: Rs200 on national highways.
- 2 & 3 Axle Trucks: Rs250 on national highways.
- Large Trucks: Rs500 on national highways. The toll for large trucks on M1, M3, M4, M5, M14, and E35 has been increased to Rs5550.
