Police have registered a case after a wife allegedly slashed her husband’s throat with a knife in Baloch Colony, Karachi.

The incident occurred yesterday when the wife attacked her husband with a sharp object. A case has been registered at the Baloch Colony police station under attempted murder charges, filed by the husband.

According to the First Information Report (FIR), the husband stated that he and his wife were riding a motorcycle when she suddenly slashed his throat with a blade. After attacking him, the wife attempted to self-harm with the same blade.

The husband further stated that they had been arguing about his intention to have a second marriage. He alleges his wife attempted to murder him.

Police have arrested the woman and transferred her to the Women’s Police Station.

Police officials reported that after injuring her husband, the woman also attempted to slit her own throat. Both were taken to Jinnah Hospital in injured condition.

Police stated that the argument stemmed from the husband’s desire to marry again, and that previous disputes over this issue had occurred between the couple. Further investigation into the incident is underway.
