In a significant move to welcome international cricket enthusiasts, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar announced that Pakistan will relax its visa policy for cricket fans during the upcoming 2025 ICC Champions Trophy.

This announcement was made at the concluding ceremony of the Champions T20 Cup.

The tournament, set to kick off on February 19, 2025, in Karachi, will feature eight teams competing in 15 matches across Pakistan and Dubai.

Tarar emphasized that the relaxed visa regulations aim to promote Pakistan’s culture and tourism, urging fans to showcase their passion for cricket.

The minister also highlighted the Pakistan Cricket Board‘s (PCB) diligent preparations for the event, while addressing concerns regarding India’s participation, stating, “Sports should be kept out of politics.”

While most matches will be held in Pakistan, India is expected to play all its games in the UAE due to ongoing tensions.

The tournament will take place in three Pakistani cities: Rawalpindi, Lahore, and Karachi, with Lahore set to host the final on March 9, unless India qualifies, in which case the match will move to Dubai.
