FIA arrests four FO officials for extorting money
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Anti-Corruption Circle Lahore has arrested four agents, including a guard and a sweeper, from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ liaison office in Lahore.
An FIA spokesperson stated that the arrested individuals are Karamat, Abbas, Zafar, and Adnan. Three other suspects – Abdul Rehman, Tayyab, and Rustam – escaped the scene.
According to the spokesperson, the arrested agents were extorting money from citizens in exchange for document verification services. Various documents, passports, and mobile phones have been seized from the suspects, and a case has been registered against them under various sections of the law.
The Director of FIA Lahore Zone, Sarfraz Khan Warraich, stated that indiscriminate actions against the agent mafia are ongoing and that those extorting money from innocent citizens will not be spared.
