Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah conducted an unexpected inspection of the Malir Expressway on Sunday.

He has urged officials to complete the first phase of the project by December 30.

The expressway, which spans nine kilometers from the Jam Sadiq Bridge to the Shah Faisal Interchange, is expected to enhance traffic flow in the region.

During his visit, Shah emphasized the need to remove illegal encroachments along the expressway to ensure smooth traffic.

He instructed local authorities and police to take action against any unauthorized structures.

The CM highlighted that the expressway will significantly reduce travel time to Jinnah Terminal, allowing commuters to make the journey in just 15 minutes.

Additionally, Shah announced that the expressway will be exclusively for vehicles, with motorcycles and rickshaws prohibited.

Security checkpoints will be established to manage traffic and ensure safety.

The Malir Expressway is seen as a crucial infrastructure project aimed at alleviating Karachi’s chronic traffic congestion and improving connectivity across the city.

Shah expressed his commitment to accelerating work on the remaining sections of the expressway following the completion of the first phase.
