Shakib Al Hasan suspended from bowling in all levels of cricket
Shakib Al Hasan has been suspended from bowling in all competitions governed by ICC-approved national federations, both domestically and internationally, following a ruling by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
This action comes after his recent suspension by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) due to an illegal bowling action.
Shakib was reported for a suspect bowling action during a county match in September and subsequently failed an independent assessment at Loughborough University, an ICC-accredited testing center.
As per ICC regulations, when a player is suspended by a national federation, that suspension is automatically recognized by the ICC and other national federations worldwide.
In a statement, the BCB confirmed Shakib’s suspension and noted that he will soon undergo a reassessment to determine whether his bowling action can be cleared.
If successful, he will be eligible to bowl in international matches and domestic competitions across all cricketing nations.
Despite this setback, Shakib remains eligible to play as a batter in all formats.
