Absolute Bagels, a beloved Upper West Side bakery known for its unique bagel flavors and schmears, abruptly closed this week after a health inspection revealed a rat infestation.

The closure shocked loyal customers who considered the shop a neighborhood staple. Now, some of the “last” bagels ever made at Absolute Bagels are being auctioned off on eBay.

The auction includes plain, cinnamon raisin, and pumpernickel bagels, with individual bagels starting at $14.99 and a trio available for $49.99.

The health inspection uncovered rat droppings throughout the premises, leading to a 67-violation notice and the immediate closure of the establishment.

The shop, which had previously faced temporary closures for similar issues in 2013 and 2017, has not announced plans to reopen.

As of Saturday night, no bids had been placed on the eBay auction, which ends on December 23rd.
