WhatsApp Beta introduces feature to remind users of unseen messages
WhatsApp has launched a new feature in its latest beta update, version 2.24.25.29, which sends reminder notifications for unread messages from important contacts.
This update is currently available for Android users participating in the Google Play Beta Programme.
Previously, WhatsApp’s reminders were restricted to status updates from frequently contacted individuals.
The new functionality extends these alerts to unread chat messages, ensuring that users do not overlook communications with their most active contacts.
The app utilizes an internal algorithm to identify key contacts based on user interaction frequency. Importantly, this data is not stored on WhatsApp’s servers and will reset if the app is reinstalled.
