In a recent announcement by the Office for National Statistics (ONS), the name Muhammad has been revealed as the most popular name for baby boys in England and Wales for 2023.

This marks a significant achievement as Muhammad has consistently ranked among the top 10 names since 2016, previously holding the second spot in 2022.

The report indicates that Muhammad has surpassed Noah to claim the top position. Oliver has also made headlines, replacing George to secure the third spot among boys’ names.

For baby girls, the top three names—Olivia, Amelia, and Isla—remain unchanged from the previous year, continuing their popularity in 2023.

The ONS highlights the influence of celebrity culture on naming trends, noting an increase in names like Reign and Saint, likely inspired by the Kardashian-Jenner family.
