Harbhajan says he has not spoken to Dhoni in 10 years
Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh has revealed a significant rift in his relationship with MS Dhoni, stating they haven’t spoken in over ten years.
Their last interaction as teammates for India was during a 2015 ODI against South Africa. Although Harbhajan played for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) alongside Dhoni from 2018 to 2020, their communication remained limited to on-field interactions.
Harbhajan explicitly stated in an interview with News18 that he doesn’t speak to Dhoni outside of their time together at CSK, where their conversations were confined to the cricket ground.
He clarified that he never initiated contact outside of these professional encounters, explaining that he prioritizes maintaining contact only with those who reciprocate his efforts. He emphasized that he harbors no ill will towards Dhoni, suggesting that any issues lie solely with Dhoni.
Despite their lack of personal communication, Harbhajan acknowledges their shared history, including two World Cup victories together in 2007 (T20) and 2011 (ODI).
Both cricketers made massive contributions to Indian cricket: Harbhajan’s 711 wickets across all formats and Dhoni’s impressive 17,266 international runs.
