Pakistan Railways has announced a 50% discount on train tickets for passengers with disabilities, marking a significant step toward enhancing accessibility for this community.

According to reports, the initiative allows all disabled passengers, with the exception of those traveling on the Green Line train, to benefit from the discount on all express and passenger trains across the country.

To qualify for the discount, passengers must possess a computerized national identity card (CNIC) that includes information about their disability. Furthermore, visually impaired passengers will be eligible for discounted fares for their accompanying attendants.

In conjunction with this announcement, Pakistan Railways has introduced special booking counters at major railway stations, as well as accessible washrooms and wheelchairs to improve the travel experience for disabled individuals.
