Cyclone Fengal approaches: Tamil Nadu, Puducherry prepare for landfall
As Cyclone Fengal intensifies, authorities in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry are taking precautionary measures ahead of its expected landfall.

In response to the adverse weather conditions, the Tamil Nadu government has ordered the closure of schools and colleges in Chennai, Thiruvallur, Kanchipuram, and Chengalpattu. Public transport services have also been suspended to ensure public safety.
The cyclone, forecasted to make landfall between Karaikal and Mahabalipuram, is expected to bring sustained winds of 70-80 km/h and gusts up to 90 km/h. With heavy rain anticipated in the coming days, local authorities are urging businesses to allow employees to work from home.
Relief camps have been established, and essential resources are being mobilized to assist those affected.
