Pacer Mohammad Amir shines at T10 in Abu Dhabi
Pakistan’s experienced left-arm pacer Mohammad Amir shined in the Abu Dhabi T10 League on Monday, playing a key role in the New York Strikers’ impressive 10-wicket victory over the home team.
He took three wickets for just seven runs in his two-over spell, including the crucial wicket of England’s Phil Salt.
This performance marks Amir’s return to form after being absent from the national team since the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup earlier this year.
He ranks joint-second among the tournament’s leading wicket-takers, boasting an impressive economy rate of 7.62 runs per over.
Amir’s efforts were complemented by Sri Lankan opener Kusal Perera, who scored a quick half-century, helping the Strikers chase down the target without losing a wicket.
For his exceptional bowling display, Amir was named Player of the Match.

While reflecting on the victory, Amir said: “This was a must-win game for us, and we’re still in contention now. We need to carry this momentum forward as it’s a short format with little margin for error. We performed as a team today, which is crucial with three important games ahead of us.”
