China urges targeted security measures for worker safety in Pakistan
China has called on Pakistan to implement specific security measures to ensure the safety of Chinese personnel and projects within the country.
During a media briefing, Yang Yundong, the Consul General of China in Karachi, emphasized the importance of creating a secure environment for ongoing cooperation between the two nations.
Highlighting China’s commitment to supporting Pakistan in its fight against terrorism, Yang stated that enhancing the security of Chinese nationals is crucial for the successful execution of various initiatives.
He noted that under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), both countries would bolster collaboration in healthcare, agriculture, education, and disaster prevention, aiming to improve the livelihoods of people in both regions.
Yang reiterated the strength of the China-Pakistan relationship, describing it as a “strategic significance” partnership.
He expressed confidence that attempts to disrupt this cooperation would ultimately fail. The Consul General also mentioned ongoing projects, including the Karachi-Hyderabad railway upgrade and developments at Gwadar Port, which are vital to enhancing connectivity and economic growth.
