Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport has been classified as a red zone in response to heightened security concerns following a recent deadly blast in the area. Authorities have implemented strict access controls to ensure the safety of passengers.

Only authorized individuals and those with valid flight tickets and identification will be allowed entry into the airport’s red zone.

This includes individuals coming to drop off or pick up travelers, as well as airport staff and those conducting official business.

To bolster security, five new police checkpoints have been established around the airport perimeter, staffed by officers around the clock.

These checkpoints will carry out thorough inspections of individuals and vehicles to prevent any suspicious activities.

Passengers are advised to arrive well in advance of their flights to avoid potential delays.

The increased security measures were introduced after a terrorist attack targeting Chinese nationals near the airport, which resulted in the deaths of two Chinese citizens and injuries to several others.

The assailant, identified as Shah Fahad, was linked to the attack, which was facilitated from within the airport premises.
