Ministry of Religious Affairs and PIA finalize Hajj flights agreement
A spokesperson for the Ministry of Religious Affairs announced that the ministry and Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) have finalized an agreement regarding Hajj flights on Wednesday.
“The national airline will provide travel facilities to 35,000 official pilgrims,” the spokesperson said in a statement.
“Agreements with Saudi Airlines and other local airlines will also be finalized soon,” the statement added.
According to the religious affairs minister, the cost of next year’s Hajj under the government scheme is anticipated to be between Rs1,075,000 and Rs1,175,000. There will also be an additional charge of Rs55,000 for animal sacrifices during the pilgrimage.
Applicants are required to pay the first installment of Rs200,000 when submitting their application. The second installment of Rs400,000 is due within ten days of the ballot if the applicant’s name is selected in the lucky draw.
