Traffic accidents have increasingly become a distressing norm in the bustling city of Karachi.

Seven individuals lost their lives in various traffic accidents across Karachi within just 24 hours, highlighting the city’s ongoing struggle with road safety. The local authorities remain largely unresponsive to the escalating crisis.

According to reports, the number of deaths from traffic incidents in Karachi has now surpassed five thousand, raising concerns among residents. The DIG Traffic’s assurances appear to remain unresponsive, as citizens continue to face the dangers of reckless driving.

One particularly tragic incident occurred near the Municipal Police Training Center, where a speeding passenger bus ran over three children. A young girl was killed, while two others sustained serious injuries; all three were riding on a motorcycle at the time. The injured children were immediately taken to the hospital, with one of them wearing a school uniform.

In another incident near Karachi Fish Harbour, a man succumbed to injuries sustained earlier in the day. His identity has not yet been confirmed. Meanwhile, on Moach Goth Road, a collision involving a speeding dumper and a bus led to the bus veering off course and crashing into a rickshaw, resulting in the death of 45-year-old motorcyclist Abdul Jabbar.

The rickshaw driver, Muhammad Ghulam, along with two female passengers were injured in the crash. Additional accidents were reported in Chakra Goth, where a motorcyclist was killed by a speeding vehicle, and near the Malir check post, where an eight-year-old boy lost his life. A further collision on Nashtar Road claimed another motorcyclist’s life and left two young men seriously injured.
