Two trains suspended Following Quetta Railway Station Bombing
Following Thursday’s deadly bombing at Quetta’s railway station, the Jaffer Express (Quetta-Peshawar) and Bolan Mail (Quetta-Karachi) trains have been suspended for four days, from November 11.
The decision to suspend the trains was made in light of the ongoing security concerns in Balochistan.
The bombing, a suicide attack near the ticket office, resulted in 27 deaths and over 50 injuries.
The Jaffer Express was scheduled to depart at 9:00 AM, but the explosion occurred before it arrived at the platform. A case has been registered against unknown individuals at the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) police station.
Reports indicate the bomber detonated a bag containing 8-10 kilograms of explosives amidst passengers waiting for the train.
