Abbottabad university expels seven students for protesting against musical night

The students are affiliated with the Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba (IJT)

The vice-chancellor of Abbottabad University of Science and Technology has expelled seven students for protesting a cultural musical night held on campus last week.

The event, organized by the university administration, sparked strong opposition from students affiliated with the Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba (IJT), a student organization. Following the protest, the university administration postponed the musical night after negotiations with the protesting students.

However, Vice-Chancellor Professor Mujadad subsequently took retaliatory action, expelling the seven students.

This decision has drawn strong condemnation from student organizations across the district and Jamaat-e-Islami leader Abdul Razzaq Abbasi. Abbasi warned of widespread protests across Abbottabad district if the vice-chancellor does not reinstate the expelled students, adding that the vice-chancellor would be held responsible for any ensuing law and order issues.
