Bushra Bibi breaks down in tears inside courtroom
Bushra Bibi, wife of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, broke down in tears in an Islamabad Sessions Court on Monday, asserting that justice is not being served and that she did not come seeking it.
She indicated her willingness to go to jail, stating that her belongings were in her vehicle and she would comply with the court’s orders.
During a court hearing, Bushra Bibi said she had suffered nine months of injustice. Becoming emotional, she stated that she and Imran Khan have both been victims of injustice across Pakistan.
She further criticized lawyers, alleging that they are merely wasting time and that the court system is failing to recognize the humanity of those involved. Bibi concluded by declaring that she would not return to this court, citing consistent injustices.
Court has reserved its verdict on a bail plea filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi. The court is considering a request for bail in one case, while separately instructing the jail superintendent to ensure their presence via video link for hearings related to six other cases against Mr. Khan.
