Winter arrives in northern areas with snowfall in Kalam
Winter has officially arrived in the upcountry, bringing snowfall to the picturesque tourist destination of Kalam in Swat, enhancing the valley’s natural beauty.
Temperatures have dropped significantly, accompanied by rainfall in the plains of Mansehra and snowfall in higher elevations.
Reports indicate that approximately one foot of snow has accumulated at Babusar Top, impacting traffic flow in the region.
The Meteorological Office has predicted further rainfall in several upper regions of the country, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad, and Rawalpindi, as well as adjacent areas of the Potohar region in Punjab and parts of Kashmir.

Rain is expected in cities like Peshawar, Chitral, Dir, Malakand, and Abbottabad, with hailstorms anticipated in the plains and continued snowfall in mountainous regions.
Meanwhile, Karachi and other districts of Sindh are experiencing an extended period of unusually warm weather for October, with temperatures two to three degrees above normal.
