The provincial government has announced measures to combat harassment to safeguard working women and female students in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

This initiative comes in response to ongoing concerns about the safety of women in educational and workplace environments.

Sources reported that directives have been issued to ensure compliance with the Workplace Act 2010.

The Higher Education Department has released a notification emphasizing the importance of adhering to this legislation. The notification outlines plans to implement the Higher Education Commission’s anti-harassment policy effectively.

Key actions include the establishment of a safer environment in educational institutions across the province, with a focus on preventing harassment incidents. The government has committed to ensuring full compliance with the Protection Act 2010 and related policies.

As part of these efforts, surveillance through CCTV will be installed in women’s hostels, and prompt investigations will be conducted for any reported harassment incidents.

Furthermore, the notification specifies that disciplinary actions will be taken against those found responsible under institutional policies.
