The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has expressed concerns regarding “inappropriate questions” posed by commentator Ramiz Raja to the national team’s Test captain Shan Masood following the series victory on home soil after three years.

Sources said that the board has decided not to make the former cricketer part of the commentary panel.

Pakistan sealed a memorable Test series win as they thrashed England by nine wickets on Saturday after Noman Ali and Sajid Khan delivered a spin masterclass.

Noman and Sajid knocked over all 10 England wickets to dismiss the visitors for 112 as Pakistan raced to victory in Rawalpindi before lunch on day three of the third Test.

It was Pakistan’s first home Test series win since beating South Africa in February 2021.

Following the victory, Masood spoke with Raja and another cricket commentator Zainab Abbas for a post-match interview.

The former cricketer while advising the Test skipper on the seaming conditions asked him about the six failures of the team. “How did you achieve these six losses in a row?”

Masood stayed calm and replied the nation and the team needed this win. “I am really happy,” he said and assured Raja that he would work on his shot selection.

In light of such comments, the PCB has formally addressed its reservations with the broadcasting company and highlighted the need for “more respectful dialogue” during commentary.

The video clip of the conversation between the two went viral on social media platform X. Many cricket fans and users on social media criticised the commentator for his comments.
