Alia Bhatt slams trolls on body shaming

She shared a long post on Instagram

Indian actor Alia Bhatt has slammed trolls on her social media page, criticising those who have been body-shaming her for her ‘crooked smile’, ‘weird way of speaking’ and ‘BOTOX gone wrong’.

Bhatt shared a long note on Friday, hitting back at people who body shamed her and spread rumors that she has done cosmetic surgery.

“Absolutely, NO JUDGEMENT towards anyone who chooses cosmetic corrections or surgery-your body, your choice. But wow, this is beyond ridiculous,” she said.

“To the random video floating around literally claiming I’ve had Botox gone wrong (and to the numerous clickbait articles) - I have a “crooked smile and a “weird way of speaking,” according to YOU.”

“This is your hypercritical, microscopic judgement of a human face. And now you’re confidently tossing around “scientific” explanations, claiming I’m paralysed on one side? Are you kidding me?” she added.

Deepfake: Alia Bhatt’s viral video sparks concerns again

The actor expressed concern about the serious accusations being made without any evidence or confirmation, warning that such claims could mislead young, impressionable audiences. She questioned the motives behind these statements, suggesting they might be driven by a desire for attention or clickbait, as they lack coherence.

She then addressed the unrealistic standards imposed on women, highlighting that they are often scrutinized harshly for their looks and personal lives. Alia emphasized that instead of celebrating individuality, society tends to criticize and objectify women online, which creates harmful and exhausting pressures to conform.

Moreover, she pointed out that much of this judgment comes from other women, questioning why there isn’t more support for each other’s choices. She lamented the normalization of this behavior, contrasting it with the idea of “live and let live,” and criticized the entertainment industry for perpetuating these unrealistic expectations hrough fabricated narratives.
